Nestled in a natural amphitheatre in the stunning South Downs, Willingdon Golf Club is a true hidden gem for golfers in Eastbourne. Designed by the legendary Alister MacKenzie, the same mastermind behind Augusta National, our 18-hole course is packed with character, strategy and challenges that keep you coming back for more.

From the white tees, our golf course is a par 69 measuring 6,094 yards, while the yellows come in at 5,841 yards. For the ladies, it plays as a par 74 from the yellows (5,841 yards) or a par 73 from the blues (5,527 yards). With six par 3s, three par 5s, and MacKenzie’s signature two-tier greens, every round here is a mix of risk, reward and pure enjoyment.

One of the things that makes Willingdon stand out is our clever layout. The natural undulations mean no two shots are the same, and with our chalk base ensuring great drainage, you can tee it up all year round - even when other courses in Eastbourne and East Sussex are struggling with the weather.

  • We use a variable green fee system, so prices can change depending on the time and day. The best way to check our current rates is to visit the Booking a tee time page or give us a call. If you're playing as a guest of a member, the green fee is £30.

  • Absolutely! We welcome visitors for one-off rounds. You can book your tee time online or by calling 01323 410981.

  • Our clubhouse is the perfect spot to relax after your round, with a fully stocked bar, delicious food from The Beach Kitchen @Willingdon and plenty of seating to unwind. You’ll also find a well-stocked pro shop with all the golf essentials you need.

  • Yes! While Willingdon provides a great challenge for experienced golfers, it’s also welcoming for beginners. The varied layout and multiple tee options make it a great course for players of all levels.

  • Yes! We have a putting green, short game area, chipping area, and practice nets to help you warm up before your round. We also have an indoor launch monitor for lessons and club fittings with our PGA professional.

  • We keep it simple, smart-casual golf attire is required, including collared shirts and tailored shorts or trousers. If you're unsure, just check with us before your visit.
